In general, this disclosure described techniques for pruning a list of motion vector prediction candidates based on picture order count (POC) values. A video coding device may be configured to generate the list of motion vector prediction candidates for a prediction unit (PU) of video data. The video coding device may prune a first motion vector prediction candidate from the list of motion vector prediction candidates when a POC value for a reference picture identified by the first motion vector prediction candidate is equal to a second POC value of a reference picture identified by a second motion vector prediction candidate in the list of motion vector prediction candidates. The video coding device may code the PU using the pruned list.

D’une manière générale, la présente invention concerne des techniques destinées à élaguer une liste de prédictions de vecteur de mouvement candidates sur la base de valeurs de comptage d’ordre d’image (POC). Un dispositif de codage de vidéo peut être configuré pour générer la liste de prédictions de vecteur de mouvement candidates destinée à une unité de prédiction (PU) de données vidéo. Le dispositif de codage de vidéo peut élaguer une première prédiction de vecteur de mouvement candidate à partir de la liste de prédictions de vecteur de mouvement candidates lorsqu’une valeur de POC pour une image de référence identifiée par la première prédiction de vecteur de mouvement candidate est égale à une seconde valeur de POC d’une image de référence identifiée par une seconde prédiction de vecteur de mouvement candidate dans la liste de prédictions de vecteur de mouvement candidates. Le dispositif de codage de vidéo peut coder la PU à l’aide de la liste élaguée.
