The present invention describes a corrosion control electrolyte coating system and methods to protect steel surface above ground and off-shore facilities from rusting and corrosion, wherein the steel surface is exposed to the atmospheric environment and coated by a transparent, ionically conductive, and dried layer or film. The system mainly made of four elements i.e. an anode, an electrolyte connected to the anode by an conductive adhesive, a power source e.g. DC power source, and a metal structure to be protected from corrosion, or rusting due to environment or atmospheric factors. The electrolyte used in the present system further comprises a highly ionically conductive & hydrophilic fluoropolymer resin having anti-cracking properties. The coating liquid can be applied easily onto the metal structure above the ground just like ordinary paints and functions well as an electrolyte of the cathodic protection. The coating liquid applied on the metal surface leads to the realization of the cathodic protection of the ground.

La présente invention concerne un système et des procédés d'application électrolytique de revêtement anticorrosion pour protéger la surface d'acier d'installations au-dessus du sol et en mer de la rouille et de la corrosion, la surface d'acier étant exposée à l'environnement atmosphérique et revêtu d'une couche ou d'un film transparents, conducteurs ioniques et séchés. Le système est principalement constitué de quatre éléments, à savoir une anode, un électrolyte connecté à l'anode par un adhésif conducteur, une source d'alimentation électrique par exemple une source de courant continu et une structure métallique à protéger de la corrosion ou de la rouille dues à des facteurs environnementaux ou atmosphériques. L'électrolyte utilisé dans le présent système comprend en outre une résine de polymère fluoré hautement conductrice ionique et hydrophile ayant des propriétés anti-craquelage. Le liquide de revêtement peut être appliqué facilement sur la structure métallique au-dessus du sol tout comme des peintures ordinaires et fonctionne bien en tant qu'électrolyte de la protection cathodique. Le liquide de revêtement appliqué sur la surface métallique conduit à la réalisation de la protection cathodique de la masse.
