Abstract:
(EN) An optical frequency mixing module is described that comprises a nonlinear medium for frequency mixing the photons of one or more input optical fields to generate an output optical field; a nonlinear medium tuner for automatically phase matching the nonlinear medium to the one or more input optical fields to select the wavelength of the output optical field generated by the nonlinear medium; and a first direction correcting optic. The position of the first direction correcting optic relative to the nonlinear medium is dependent upon the selected wavelength of the output optical field and therefore ensures that the position and angle of propagation of this field remains constant and independent of its wavelength of. The optical frequency mixing modules therefore provides a means for automatically selecting the wavelength of the output field with no deviation being imparted onto the position or angle of propagation of the output field.
(FR) L'invention concerne un module de mélange de fréquences optiques qui comprend un milieu non linéaire servant à mélanger en fréquences les photons d'un ou de plusieurs champs optiques d'entrée pour générer un champ optique de sortie ; un accordeur de milieu non linéaire servant à adapter automatiquement la phase du milieu non linéaire au ou aux champs optiques d'entrée pour sélectionner la longueur d'onde du champ optique de sortie généré par le milieu non linéaire ; et une première optique de correction de direction. La position de la première optique de correction de direction par rapport au milieu non linéaire dépend de la longueur d'onde sélectionnée du champ optique de sortie et garantit ainsi que la position et l'angle de propagation de ce champ demeurent constants et indépendants de sa longueur d'onde. Les modules de mélange de fréquences optiques permettent par conséquent de fournir un moyen de sélection automatique de la longueur d'onde du champ de sortie sans déviation communiquée à la position ou à l'angle de propagation du champ de sortie.
