Abstract:
(EN) The present invention is directed to virus-like particles (VLPs) which are engineered to present epitopes from Staphylococcus aureus (SA), preferably autoinducing peptides (AIPs) which regulate quorum-sensing dependent virulence in this pathogen, or epitopes from SA toxins and leukocidins. These VLPs may be used to provide immunogenic compositions and efficacious vaccines. In a mouse model of SA dermonecrosis, vaccination with AIP-containing VLPs or SA toxin-containing VLPs induces protective immunity to limit the pathogenesis of SA infection and promote bacterial clearance.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des particules de type virus (VLP) conçues pour présenter des épitopes de Staphylococcus aureus (SA), de préférence les peptides autoinduits (AIP) qui régulent la virulence dépendante de la détection du quorum chez ce pathogène, ou des épitopes de toxines et de leucocidines du SA. Ces VLP peuvent être utilisées pour fournir des compositions immunogènes et des vaccins efficaces. Dans un modèle de nécrose de la peau à SA chez la souris, une vaccination par des VLP contenant des AIP ou par des VLP contenant une toxine de SA est capable d'induire une immunité protectrice pour ainsi limiter le processus pathogénique d'une infection à SA et favoriser la clairance bactérienne.
