Abstract:
(EN) Described herein are methods and systems for processing point-cloud data with a line scanner. One embodiment takes the form of a method that includes: receiving a 3D point cloud that is representative of an object; using one or more line scanners to identify one or more respective outer bounds of the object; and dimensioning the object based on points in the point cloud, wherein each of the points in the point cloud that are used for dimensioning the object is at or inside every identified outer bound.
(FR) L'invention concerne des procédés et des systèmes de traitement de données de nuages de points avec un dispositif de balayage linéaire. Un mode de réalisation se présente sous la forme d'un procédé consistant à : recevoir un nuage de points 3D qui est représentatif d'un objet; utiliser un ou plusieurs dispositifs de balayage linéaire pour identifier une ou plusieurs limites externes respectives de l'objet; et dimensionner l'objet sur la base de points dans le nuage de points, chacun des points dans le nuage de points qui sont utilisés pour dimensionner l'objet étant sur ou dans chaque limite externe identifiée.
