(EN) A projection-type video display device (100) that uses light from a plurality of light sources (106R), (106G), (106B) to project an image formed by a display element (102) and that comprises light source cooling parts (110R), (110G), (110B) that are respectively provided to the light sources (106R), (106G), (106B) and that cool the light sources (106R), (106G), (106B).The light source cooling parts (110R), (110G), (110B) are arranged such that light source heat release directions, which are the directions of heat-releasing heat release parts of the light sources (106R), (106G), (106B) with respect to heat-absorbing heat absorption parts of the light sources (106R), (106G), (106B), are approximately the same at all of the light source cooling parts (110R), (110G), (110B).
