Abstract:
(EN) Techniques using electrical stimulation for treating an Autoimmune Disease by means of an implantable pulse generator and at least one electrode. An electrode lead is surgically implanted in a region of the insular cortex to deliver electrical stimulation. The at least one electrode lead and implantable pulse generator contain features that allow the electrical stimulation to be directed to specific volumes of the insular cortex, and ensure that non- therapeutic volumes do not receive electrical stimulation.
(FR) L'invention concerne des techniques utilisant la stimulation électrique pour traiter une maladie auto-immune au moyen d'un générateur d'impulsions implantable et d'au moins une électrode. Un fil d'électrode est implanté par voie chirurgicale dans une zone du cortex insulaire en vue de l'administration d'une stimulation électrique. Ledit ou lesdits fils d'électrode et ledit générateur d'impulsions implantable présentent des caractéristiques permettant d'envoyer la stimulation électrique vers des volumes spécifiques du cortex insulaire et de faire en sorte que des volumes non thérapeutiques ne reçoivent pas de stimulation électrique.
