Abstract:
(EN) The present invention relates to a microfluidic capillary propulsion pump as well as to the manufacture and use of such pumps. The pumps of the present invention are particularly useful within lab-on-a-chip, point of care and drug delivery applications. The pump is activated wherein a working liquid (108) located in an inlet channel (106) contacts a solid sorbent (101) and is then absorbed therein. A fluid (e.g. air) contained in the solid sorbent (201) is then expulsed and propulses a second fluid (109) located in an outlet channel (105).
(FR) La présente invention concerne une pompe de propulsion capillaire microfluidique ainsi que la fabrication et l'utilisation de telles pompes. Les pompes de la présente invention sont particulièrement utiles dans des applications de laboratoire sur puce, de point d'intervention et d'administration de médicaments. La pompe est activée lorsqu’un liquide de travail (108) situé dans un canal d'entrée (106) entre en contact avec un sorbant solide (101) et est ensuite absorbé à l'intérieur de celui-ci. Un fluide (par exemple de l'air) contenu dans le sorbant solide (201) est ensuite expulsé et propulse un second fluide (109) situé dans un canal de sortie (105).
