Abstract:
(EN) A high-divergence-angle optical fiber apparatus is disclosed that includes a multimode optical fiber having a distal end and a divergence angle θ'. A light-redirecting structure is operably disposed at the distal end and consists of an array of between 1 and 10 layers of fused glass microspheres. The light-redirecting structure defines a divergence angle θ, wherein θ ≥ 2θ'. A light source system that utilizes the high-divergence-angle optical fiber apparatus is also disclosed.
(FR) L'invention concerne un appareil à fibres optiques à angle de divergence élevé qui comprend une fibre optique multimode ayant une extrémité distale et un angle de divergence θ'. Une structure de réorientation de la lumière est fonctionnellement disposée à l'extrémité distale et comprend un réseau constitué de 1 et 10 couches de microsphères de verre fondu. La structure de réorientation de la lumière définit un angle de divergence θ, où θ ≥ 2θ'. L'invention concerne également un système de source de lumière qui utilise l'appareil à fibres optiques à angle de divergence élevé.
