Abstract:
(EN) A method and system of monitoring fluid flow in a wellbore (16). One or more space- distributed temperature input pulses (6a,b; 6'; 6") are induced into at least a portion of the fluid in a housing (15; 15a,b; 15'; 15") in the wellbore, The housing has at least one cavity (14; 14a,b) and one or more flow ports (4; 4', 5; 5'; 5a',b'). A temperature response pulse, caused by said temperature input pulses, are sensed at one or more locations (2) downstream of said cavity (14; 14a,b), and a flow rate of said fluid through said cavity (14) is determined. The flow rate may be determined based on one or more characteristics of said temperature response pulse, and the Retention Time Distribution (RTD) of said cavity.
(FR) Cette invention concerne un procédé et un système de surveillance d'un écoulement de fluide dans un trou de forage (16). Une ou plusieurs impulsions d'entrée de température réparties dans l'espace (6a, b; 6'; 6") sont induites dans au moins une partie du fluide dans un boîtier (15; 15a, b; 15'; 15") dans le trou de forage. Le boîtier possède au moins une cavité (14; 14a, b) et un ou plusieurs orifices d'écoulement (4; 4', 5; 5'; 5a', b'). Une impulsion de réponse de température, provoquée par lesdites impulsions d'entrée de température est détectée à un ou plusieurs emplacements (2) en aval de ladite cavité (14; 14 a,b) et un débit dudit fluide à travers ladite cavité (14) est déterminé. Le débit peut être déterminé sur la base d'une ou plusieurs caractéristiques de ladite impulsion de réponse de température, et de la répartition des temps de rétention (RTD) de ladite cavité.
