Abstract:
(EN) A method of creating a bead core for a tire is provided. The bead core is formed from a carbon fiber composite. The bead is formed into the shape of a hoop or ring before the carbon fiber composite is fully cured. The strain present in the carbon fiber composite after forming the ring is carefully controlled to be less than 0.1 percent. A tire incorporating such a bead core within the bead portions of the tire can have improved weight relative to a tire with conventional, steel bead core constructions.
(FR) Procédé de création d'une tringle pour un pneumatique. La tringle est formée d'un composite de fibres de carbone. Le talon est formé selon la forme d'un cercle ou anneau avant que le composite en fibres de carbone ne soit complètement vulcanisé. La contrainte présente dans le composite de fibres de carbone après formation de l'anneau est soigneusement commandée pour être inférieure à 0,1 %. Un pneumatique renfermant une telle tringle dans les parties talon du pneumatique peut avoir un poids amélioré par rapport à un pneumatique présentant des constructions de tringle en acier classiques.
