Abstract:
(EN) Provided is a driving device for PWM control capable of, when PWM control of voltage pulses used for controlling the temperature of a heater of a phase controller is performed, increasing the response (switching of optical paths) speed of an optical element such as an optical switch. Phase controllers 5, 6 include first and second heaters for varying the temperature of first and second optical waveguides 1, 2 that extend in parallel to each other. Driving devices 7, 8 include a pulse generation circuit that generates voltage pulses to be applied to the first and second heaters. The pulse generation circuit generates, while the voltage pulse applied to the first heater is at a zero-state 27, a first voltage pulse 28 which is applied to the second heater when the temperature of the second heater has started increasing, and, following the first voltage pulse, further generates multiple consecutive second voltage pulses 29 that have a shorter pulse width than that of the first voltage pulse.
(FR) L'invention concerne un dispositif de commande pour commande de modulation d'impulsions en largeur (PWM) apte, lorsqu'une commande PWM d'impulsions de tension utilisées pour commander la température d'un élément chauffant d'un contrôleur de phase est effectuée, à augmenter la vitesse de réponse (commutation de trajets optiques) d'un élément optique tel qu'un commutateur optique. Des contrôleurs de phase (5, 6) comprennent des premier et second éléments chauffants pour faire varier la température d'un premier et d'un second guides d'ondes optiques (1, 2) qui s'étendent parallèlement l'un par rapport à l'autre. Des dispositifs de commande (7, 8) comprennent un circuit de génération d'impulsions qui génère des impulsions de tension à appliquer aux premier et second éléments chauffants. Le circuit de génération d'impulsions génère, pendant que l'impulsion de tension appliquée sur le premier élément chauffant est à un état zéro (27), une première impulsion de tension (28) qui est appliquée sur le second élément chauffant lorsque la température du second élément chauffant a commencé à augmenter, et, après la première impulsion de tension, génère en outre de multiples secondes impulsions de tension consécutives (29) qui ont une largeur d'impulsion plus courte que celle de la première impulsion de tension.
