CLAIMS

1. Solar module comprising a plurality of solar cells (2), a back contact sheet (3) for connecting the plurality of solar cells (2) in one or more strings (5), and a plurality of clusters (7) of back side contacts (4), each cluster (7) being associated with one of the plurality of solar cells (2) for providing electrical contact to the back contact sheet (3),

wherein at least one of the plurality of solar cells (2') is positioned outside of a regular grid pattern (8) associated with a single one of the plurality of solar cells (2), and the back contact sheet (3) and/or the plurality of clusters (7) of back side contacts (4) is adapted locally to contact the at least one of the plurality of solar cells (2') with the associated string (5) of the one or more strings (5).

2. Solar module according to claim 1 , wherein a cluster (7) of back side contacts (4) is bound by edges (9) of an associated solar cell (2), providing a reference point (r) of the associated solar cell (2) where two of the edges (9) cross,

and wherein a distance (dr) between reference points (r) of the at least one of the plurality of solar cells (2') and an adjacent solar cell (2) is larger than a minimum distance (dmin) between edges (9) of solar cells (2) in the regular grid pattern (8) of the solar module (1 ).

3. Solar module according to claim 1 or 2, wherein the at least one of the plurality of solar cells (2') is rotated with respect to the regular grid pattern (8) over an angle (a) unequal to 90°.

4. Solar module according to claim 3, wherein the at least one of the plurality of solar cells (2') is rotated with respect to the regular grid pattern (8) over an angle (a) between 1 ° and 89°, e.g. between 2° and 88°.

5. Solar module according to any one of claims 1-4, wherein the at least one of the plurality of solar cells (2') is translated with respect to the regular grid pattern (8) over a distance unequal to a single inter-cell distance (dceli) of the regular grid pattern (8).

6. Solar module according to any one of claim 1-5, wherein the at least one of the plurality of solar cells (2') is divided in two or more parts (2a, 2b) sharing the associated cluster (7) of back side contacts (4).

7. Solar module according to any one of claims 1-6, wherein the plurality of solar cells (2) each have the same surface area.

8. Solar module according to any one of claims 1-7, wherein the plurality of solar cells (2) each have the same dimensions.

9. Solar module according to any one of claims 1-8, wherein the plurality of solar cells (2) comprise solar cells (2) having the shape of an entire wafer cell, a semi-cell, a quarter cell, a triangular cell, a rectangular cell or a round cell.

10. Solar module according to any one of claims 1-8, wherein the plurality of solar cells (2) comprise a combination of at least two types of solar cells (2), selected from the group of an entire wafer cell, a semi-cell, a quarter cell, a triangular cell, a rectangular cell, or a round cell.

11. Solar module according to any one of claims 1-8, wherein the plurality of solar cells (2) comprises a plurality of spatially separated groups of similar shaped solar cells (2).

12. Solar module according to claim 11 , wherein the group of similar shaped solar cells (2) comprises at least two adjacent solar cells (2) of which two respective sides are in contact with each other.

13. Solar module according to any one of claims 1-12, wherein the back contact sheet (3) is removed in a part of the solar module (1 ) where no solar cell (2) is present.

14. Solar module according to claim 13, wherein the removed part of the back contact sheet (3) is filled with a filling layer.

15. Solar module according to claim 14, wherein the filling layer comprises one or more of:

a colored sheet, a photo sheet, a logo sheet, a textile sheet, an item.
