Abstract:
(EN) Methods for recognizing or identifying tooth types using digital 3D models of teeth. The methods include receiving a segmented digital 3D model of teeth and selecting a digital 3D model of a tooth from the segmented digital 3D model. An aggregation of the plurality of distinct features of the tooth is computed to generate a single feature describing the digital 3D model of the tooth. A type of the tooth is identified based upon the aggregation, which can include comparing the aggregation with features corresponding with known tooth types. The methods also include identifying a type of tooth, without segmenting it from an arch, based upon tooth widths and a location of the tooth within the arch.
(FR) La présente invention concerne des procédés de reconnaissance d’identification de types de dent au moyen de modèles 3D numériques de dents. Le procédé comprend la réception d’un modèle 3D numérique segmenté de dents et la sélection d’un modèle 3D numérique d’une dent à partir du modèle 3D numérique segmenté. Une agrégation de la pluralité de caractéristiques distinctes de la dent est calculée pour générer une caractéristique unique décrivant le modèle 3D numérique de la dent. Un type de la dent est identifié sur la base de l’agrégation, ce qui peut comprendre la comparaison de l’agrégation à des caractéristiques correspondant à des types de dent connus. Les procédés comprennent en outre l’identification d’un type de dent, sans segmenter celui-ci à partir d’un arc, sur la base des largeurs de dent et d’un emplacement de la dent dans l’arc.
