Abstract:
(EN) A method and apparatus are provided for synchronizing network traffic to a mobile device from each of multiple servers, wherein each such server can independently determine when to send traffic to the mobile device. More particularly, each of the multiple servers receives, from the mobile device, a value that uniquely identifies the mobile device from among multiple mobile devices. The server determines a time slot value based on the received value and assigns a time slot to the mobile device based on the determined time slot value. The server then transmits data to the mobile device in the assigned time slot. By each of the multiple servers determining the time slot value, and the assigned time slot, based on a same value received from the mobile device, the multiple servers are able to synchronize their transmissions to the mobile device without need of a common, intermediary, push notification service.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé et un appareil pour synchroniser un trafic de réseau vers un dispositif mobile à partir de chacun de multiples serveurs, chaque serveur pouvant déterminer de manière indépendante le moment pour envoyer le trafic vers le dispositif mobile. Plus particulièrement, chacun des serveurs multiples reçoit, en provenance du dispositif mobile, une valeur qui identifie de façon unique le dispositif mobile parmi de multiples dispositifs mobiles. Le serveur détermine une valeur de créneau temporel sur la base de la valeur reçue et attribue un créneau temporel au dispositif mobile sur la base de la valeur de créneau temporel déterminée. Le serveur transmet ensuite des données au dispositif mobile dans le créneau temporel attribué. Du fait que chacun des multiples serveurs détermine la valeur de créneau temporel, et le créneau temporel attribué, sur la base d'une même valeur reçue du dispositif mobile, les multiples serveurs peuvent synchroniser leurs émissions vers le dispositif mobile sans avoir besoin d'un service de notification de mise en avant intermédiaire commun.
