Abstract:
(EN) [Problem] The present invention aims to provide a liquid crystal display element that focusses on the relationship between the dielectric constant and refractive index anisotropy of a liquid crystal layer, has reduced/suppressed flickering, and is driven using low power consumption. [Solution] A liquid crystal display element having: a first transparent substrate; a second transparent substrate arranged facing the first transparent substrate; a liquid crystal layer containing a liquid crystal composition provided between the first transparent substrate and the second transparent substrate; a pixel electrode arranged upon the first transparent substrate; and a display processing unit that controls frame frequencies for image signals for the pixel electrode to a range of 0.1-60 Hz and enables free expansion/contraction of frame frequencies for image signals. The liquid crystal display element is characterized by containing at least 80% by mass of a polar compound having ε⊥×Δn being no more than 1.7, among polar components comprising the polar compound in the liquid crystal composition.
(FR) L'invention a pour objet de fournir un élément d'affichage à cristaux liquides qui permet d'atténuer/supprimer une scintillation, et dont l'entraînement est effectué au moyen d'une faible consommation d'énergie, en portant l'attention sur la relation entre la constante diélectrique et l'anisotropie d'indice de réfraction d'une couche de cristaux liquides. Cet élément d'affichage à cristaux liquides possède : un premier substrat transparent; un second substrat transparent disposé en opposition audit premier substrat transparent; une couche de cristaux liquides qui comprend une composition de cristaux liquides agencée entre lesdits premier et second substrats transparents; une électrode de pixel disposée sur ledit premier substrat transparent; et une partie gestion d'affichage qui commande une fréquence image d'un signal d'image vers l'électrode de pixel dans une plage inférieure ou égale à 60Hz et supérieure ou égale à 0,1Hz, et qui autorise une extension de la fréquence image dudit signal d'image. L'élément d'affichage à cristaux liquides est caractéristique en ce qu'il comprend 80% en masse ou plus d'un composé polaire tel que ε⊥×Δn est inférieur ou égal à 1,7 dans un composant polaire configuré par un composé polaire dans ladite composition de cristaux liquides.
(JA) [課題] 本発明は、液晶層の誘電率と屈折率異方性との関係に着目して、フリッカーが低減・抑制され、かつ低消費電力で駆動する液晶表示素子を提供することを目的とする。 [解決手段] 第1の透明基板と、 前記第1の透明基板と対向配置された第2の透明基板と、 前記第1の透明基板と第2の透明基板との間に設けられた液晶組成物を含有する液晶層と、前記第1の透明基板上に配置される画素電極と、 前記画素電極への画像信号のフレーム周波数を60Hz以下0.1Hz以上の範囲に制御し、前記画像信号のフレーム周波数を延縮自在にする表示処理部と、を有し、 前記液晶組成物中のポーラー化合物から構成されるポーラー成分のうち、ε⊥×Δnが1.7以下のポーラー化合物を80質量%以上含有することを特徴とする、液晶表示素子。
