Abstract:
(EN) Provided is a display device such that gradation presented in the dark portion of an image can be improved when power saving control is performed. The display device includes: a display panel for displaying an image; a backlight having a light-emitting surface for emitting light toward the rear surface of the display panel, the light-emitting surface being divided into a plurality of light-emitting regions; and a control unit for determining the luminance of the backlight for each of the light-emitting regions in response to each luminance in a plurality of image regions in the image corresponding to each of the plurality of light-emitting regions. When the backlight satisfies the prescribed condition, the control unit compares each determined luminance in the plurality of light-emitting regions with a threshold, and lowers the luminance of light-emitting regions greater than the threshold while maintaining the luminance of light-emitting regions smaller than the threshold.
(FR) L’invention concerne un dispositif d’affichage de telle sorte qu’une gradation présentée dans la partie sombre d’une image peut être améliorée lorsqu’une commande d’économie d’énergie est réalisée. Le dispositif d’affichage comprend : un panneau d’affichage pour afficher une image ; un rétroéclairage ayant une surface électroluminescente pour émettre une lumière vers la surface arrière du panneau d’affichage, la surface électroluminescente étant divisée en une pluralité de régions électroluminescentes ; et une unité de commande pour déterminer la luminance du rétroéclairage pour chacune des régions électroluminescentes en réponse à chaque luminance dans une pluralité de régions d’image dans l’image correspondant à chacune de la pluralité de régions électroluminescentes. Lorsque le rétroéclairage satisfait à la condition prescrite, l’unité de commande compare chaque luminance déterminée dans la pluralité de régions électroluminescentes à un seuil, et abaisse la luminance de régions électroluminescentes supérieure au seuil tout en maintenant la luminance de régions électroluminescentes inférieure au seuil.
(JA) 省電力制御を行った際に、画像の暗部における階調表現を高めることができる表示装置を提供する。表示装置は、画像を表示する表示パネルと、表示パネルの背面に向けて光を照射する発光面を有し、発光面が複数の発光領域に分割されたバックライトと、複数の発光領域にそれぞれ対応する画像の複数の画像領域の各々の輝度に応じて、バックライトの輝度を発光領域毎に独立して決定する制御部と、を備える。制御部は、バックライトが所定の条件を満たす場合に、決定した複数の発光領域の各々の輝度と閾値とを比較することにより、閾値よりも大きい発光領域の輝度を低下させ、かつ、閾値以下の発光領域の輝度を維持する。
