Abstract:
(EN) A method of reducing color in an alkanolamine is described. The method includes contacting the alkanolamine with a color-reducing amount of a borane complex effective to provide a color-reduced alkanolamine composition having a Platinum-Cobalt Color Value, according to Test Method ASTM D1209, of less than 50.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé permettant de réduire la couleur d'une alcanolamine. Le procédé consiste à mettre en contact l'alcanolamine avec une quantité, suffisante pour la réduction de coloration, d'un complexe de borane efficace pour produire une composition d'alcanolamine à couleur réduite ayant une valeur de couleur platine-cobalt, selon la norme de procédé de test ASTM D1209, inférieure à 50.
