Abstract:
(EN) There is provided an electrically insulating cap according to any one of the appended claims. The cap comprises a tube (10) having a tube radius, an opening at a first end (12) of the tube for receiving electrical wires, and a joint (16) between two opposing sides of the tube within an interior of the tube. The joint blocks the tube at a point along a length of the tube to prevent the electrical wires from entering beyond a fixed distance into the tube. The joint is spaced away from a second end (14) of the tube by a standoff distance (20), the second end of the tube being opposite the first end of the tube. The standoff distance (20) is greater than the radius (22) of the tube and less than five times the radius of the tube. The tube is formed of an outer tube of a non heat shrinkable material around an inner tube of a heat shrinkable material.
(FR) L'invention concerne un couvercle électriquement isolé selon l'une quelconque des revendications annexées. Le couvercle comporte un tube (10) ayant un rayon de tube, une ouverture au niveau d'une première extrémité (12) du tube servant à recevoir des fils électriques, et un joint (16) entre deux côtés opposés du tube dans une partie intérieure du tube. Le joint bloque le tube au niveau d'un point situé le long d'une longueur du tube pour empêcher les fils électriques de pénétrer au-delà d'une distance fixe dans le tube. Le joint est espacé à l'opposé d'une deuxième extrémité (14) du tube par une distance de sécurité (20), la deuxième extrémité du tube étant opposée à la première extrémité du tube. La distance de sécurité (20) est supérieure au rayon (22) du tube et mesure moins de cinq fois le rayon du tube. Le tube est formé à partir d'un tube extérieur d'un matériau non thermorétractable autour d'un tube intérieur en matériau thermorétractable.
