Abstract:
(EN) A network node in a cellular telecommunications system hands over responsibility for serving a wireless communication equipment from a serving cell to a target cell, wherein the wireless communication equipment is situated in a first aircraft that is in-flight. An aircraft position, an aircraft velocity, and an aircraft direction are determined. For each candidate cell of a number of candidate cells, a level of beam distortion that would result from a beam directed from the candidate cell to the first aircraft is predicted. The target cell is selected from the candidate cells by identifying which of the candidate cells has a least amount of predicted beam distortion. The target cell is then signaled to prepare for a handover of responsibility for serving the wireless communication equipment.
(FR) L'invention concerne un nœud de réseau dans un système de télécommunications cellulaire qui transfère la responsabilité de la desserte d'un équipement de communication sans fil d'une cellule servante vers une cellule destinataire. L'équipement de communication sans fil se trouve dans un premier aéronef en vol. Une position de l'aéronef, une vitesse de l'aéronef et une direction de l'aéronef sont déterminées. Pour chaque cellule candidate d'une pluralité de cellules candidates, un niveau de distorsion du faisceau qui résulterait d'un faisceau dirigé de la cellule candidate vers le premier aéronef est prédit. La cellule cible est sélectionnée parmi les cellules candidates en identifiant laquelle des cellules candidates présente le niveau de distorsion du faisceau prédit le plus faible. La cellule cible est ensuite signalée pour préparer un transfert de responsabilité en vue de la desserte de l'équipement de communication sans fil.
