Abstract:
(EN) A combustion air intake apparatus for a truck, tractor, or bus vehicle for highway use includes an air deflecting element that is selectively deployable to cause dynamic air pressure created by vehicle motion to increase static air, pressure within the intake apparatus under appropriate conditions. Deployment or retraction of the air deflecting element is responsive to at least one of forward speed of the vehicle, air pressure downstream of an air inlet opening, or throttle position, and may further be responsive to detection of precipitation and/or particulate material. An air deflecting element may include a moveable plate or flap, moveable louvers, or a moveable duct.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un appareil d'admission d'air de combustion pour un camion, un tracteur ou un bus, destiné à une utilisation sur autoroute et comprenant un élément de déviation d'air qui est sélectivement déployable pour amener la pression d'air dynamique créée par le déplacement du véhicule à augmenter la pression d'air statique dans l'appareil d'admission dans des conditions appropriées. Le déploiement ou la rétraction de l'élément de déviation d'air peut se produire en fonction de la vitesse en marche avant du véhicule, et/ou de la pression d'air en aval d'une ouverture d'entrée d'air, et/ou de la position du papillon, et peut en outre se produire suite à la détection de précipitations et/ou de matières particulaires. Un élément de déviation d'air peut comprendre une plaque mobile ou un volet mobile, des déflecteurs mobiles, ou une conduite mobile.
