Abstract:
(EN) Extrusion apparatus and methods for use in the design and operation of extrusion screws having multiple channels. In response to rotation of an extrusion screw in an extrusion process, the multiple channels of the extrusion screw can control the temperature, pressure, and/or shear rate of feedstock material flowing through the respective channels. The multiple channels of the extrusion screw can be configured to control the temperature, the pressure, and/or the shear rate of the processed feedstock material by being modeled as one or more model objects having one or more predetermined geometries. The models of the respective channels can then be analyzed using computerized analytical and/or numerical techniques in order to obtain at least estimates of desired temperatures, pressures, and/or shear rates of the processed feedstock material, based at least on specified channel lengths, channel widths, and/or channel depths of the respective channel models.
(FR) L'invention concerne un appareil et des procédés d'extrusion destinés à être utilisés dans la conception et l'utilisation de vis d'extrusion comportant des canaux multiples. En réponse à la rotation d'une vis d'extrusion dans un processus d'extrusion, les canaux multiples de la vis d'extrusion peuvent réguler la température, la pression et/ou la vitesse de cisaillement d'une matière de charge d'alimentation s'écoulant dans les canaux respectifs. Les canaux multiples de la vis d'extrusion peuvent être configurés pour réguler la température, la pression et/ou la vitesse de cisaillement de la matière de charge d'alimentation traitée par leur modélisation sous forme d'au moins un objet modèle présentant au moins une géométrie prédéterminée. Les modèles des canaux respectifs peuvent être ensuite analysés au moyen de techniques analytiques et/ou numériques informatisées afin d'obtenir au moins des estimations de températures, de pressions et/ou de vitesses de cisaillement souhaitées de la matière de charge d'alimentation traitée, en fonction au moins de longueurs, de largeurs et/ou de profondeurs de canal déterminées des modèles de canal respectifs.
