Abstract:
(EN) A combustible fluid-operated orbital engine having sets of cooperating cylinder and piston members with respective parallel axes of rotation. Respective cylinder and piston carrier wheels with respective axes of rotation parallel to the piston/cylinder axes of rotation carrying the pistons/cylinders orbitally and at all times in opposed relation on a common longitudinal axis along intersecting counter paths. Redundant belts/sprockets supported by the cylinder and piston carrier wheels rotate the pistons/cylinders counter to their circular motion direction to maintain their opposed relation for their periodic interfitment when their respective paths intersect. A combustible fluid supply is provided to the cylinder member for combustion coincident with the periodic interfitment. An air supply is provided to the cylinder member for purging exhaust gases and/or supercharging combustion gases. A sealing system that includes a non-metallic flexible seal is located either proximate the entry of each cylinder or proximate an end portion of each piston.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un moteur orbital actionné par fluide combustible doté d'ensembles d'éléments cylindres et pistons coopérant ayant des axes de rotation parallèles respectifs. Des roues porteuses de cylindres et de pistons respectives ont des axes de rotation respectifs parallèles aux axes de rotation des pistons/cylindres portant les pistons/cylindres de façon orbitale et en permanence en relation opposée sur un axe longitudinal commun le long de contre-trajectoires se croisant. Des courroies/roues dentées redondantes supportées par les roues porteuses de cylindres et de pistons font tourner les pistons/cylindres à l'opposé de leur direction de mouvement circulaire pour maintenir leur relation opposée pendant leur emboîtement périodique lorsque leurs trajectoires respectives se croisent. Une alimentation en fluide combustible est placée sur l'élément cylindre en vue d'une combustion coïncidant avec l'emboîtement périodique. Une alimentation en air est prévue sur l'élément cylindre pour évacuer des gaz d'échappement et/ou suralimenter en gaz de combustion. Un système d'étanchéité qui comprend un joint souple non métallique est situé soit à proximité de l'entrée de chaque cylindre soit à proximité d'une partie d'extrémité de chaque piston.
