Abstract:
(EN) An input/output (I/O) and control system for long distance communications and industrial applications having a bus and protocol for communications between field devices and a channel generator for monitoring and control of the field devices. The channel generator produces an offset square wave of configurable frequency on the bus, and sends a synchronization pulse of selected duration at the start of each bus scan cycle in a pulse train cycle to reset counters in the field devices before the bus scan cycle is repeated, to ensure field devices are synchronized, transmitters transmit on the correct channel, and receivers sample the pulse cycle at the correct time. Changing the synchronization pulse length increases bandwidtli for shorter, less noisy and more stable systems and inversely decreases bandwidth for increased noise immunity and distance for longer, noisier and less stable systems.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un système de commande et d'entrée/sortie (E/S) pour des communications longue distance et des applications industrielles comportant un bus et un protocole pour des communications entre des dispositifs de champ et un générateur de canal afin de surveiller et de commander les dispositifs de champ. Le générateur de canaux produit une onde carrée de décalage de fréquence configurable sur le bus et envoie une impulsion de synchronisation d'une durée choisie au début de chaque cycle de balayage de bus dans un cycle de trains d'impulsions pour réinitialiser des compteurs dans les dispositifs de champ avant répétition du cycle de balayage de bus, afin de s'assurer que les dispositifs de champ sont synchronisés, que les émetteurs émettent sur le canal correct et que les récepteurs échantillonnent le cycle d'impulsions à l'heure correcte. La modification de la longueur des impulsions de synchronisation augmente la bande passante pour des systèmes plus courts, moins bruyants et plus stables et, inversement, diminue la bande passante pour une immunité au bruit renforcée et une distance accrue pour des systèmes plus longs, plus bruyants et moins stables.
