Abstract:
(EN) A replaceable unit for an electrophotographic image forming device according to one example embodiment includes a housing having a reservoir for storing toner. A rotatable shaft is positioned within the reservoir and has an axis of rotation. A first magnet and a second magnet are connected to the shaft and rotatable around the axis of rotation in response to rotation of the shaft. The first magnet and the second magnet are detectable by a magnetic sensor when the replaceable unit is installed in the image forming device. A polarity of the first magnet is oriented opposite a polarity of the second magnet relative to the shaft. An amount of angular offset between the first magnet and the second magnet varies depending on an amount of toner in the reservoir.
(FR) Selon un mode de réalisation donné à titre d'exemple, l'invention a trait à une unité remplaçable qui est destinée à un dispositif de formation d'image électrophotographique, et qui comprend un boîtier muni d'un réservoir servant à stocker le toner. Un arbre rotatif est positionné à l'intérieur du réservoir et présente un axe de rotation. Un premier aimant et un second aimant sont reliés à l'arbre et peuvent tourner autour de l'axe de rotation en réponse à la rotation de cet arbre. Ledit premier aimant et ledit second aimant peuvent être détectés par un capteur magnétique lorsque l'unité remplaçable est installée dans le dispositif de formation d'image. La polarité du premier aimant est orientée de manière à être opposée à la polarité du second aimant par rapport à l'arbre. La quantité de décalage angulaire entre ce premier aimant et ce second aimant varie en fonction de la quantité de toner dans le réservoir.
