Abstract:
(EN) This electrophoretic element is provided with a first substrate, a second substrate and an electrophoretic layer that is arranged between the first substrate and the second substrate, and comprises a plurality of pixels that are arranged in a matrix form. This electrophoretic element is additionally provided with a partition wall that divides the electrophoretic layer into the pixels. The first substrate comprises at least three electrodes, to which potentials different from each other are able to be applied, in each pixel. The partition wall comprises: a first portion that is positioned between two pixels which are adjacent to each other in one direction of the direction of rows and the direction of columns; and a second portion that is positioned between two pixels which are adjacent to each other in the other direction. If one of the two pixels, which are adjacent to each other with the first portion of the partition wall lying therebetween, is defined as the first pixel and the other of the two pixels is defined as the second pixel, the first portion of the partition wall at least partially covers one electrode of the first pixel and one electrode of the second pixel.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un élément électrophorétique doté d'un premier substrat, d'un second substrat et d'une couche électrophorétique placée entre le premier substrat et le second substrat, ledit élément comprenant une pluralité de pixels disposés en matrice. L'élément électrophorétique est en outre doté d'une paroi de séparation qui divise la couche électrophorétique en les pixels. Dans chaque pixel, le premier substrat comprend trois électrodes ou plus auxquelles peuvent être appliqués des potentiels différents les uns des autres. La paroi de séparation comprend : une première partie positionnée entre deux pixels adjacents l'un à l'autre dans une direction parmi la direction des rangées et dans la direction des colonnes ; et une seconde partie positionnée entre deux pixels adjacents l'un à l'autre dans l'autre direction. Si l'un des deux pixels adjacents l'un à l'autre, entre lesquels est placée la première partie de la paroi de séparation, est défini comme premier pixel et que l'autre est défini comme second pixel, la première partie de la paroi de séparation recouvre au moins partiellement une électrode du premier pixel et une électrode du second pixel.
