Abstract:
(EN) In an embodiment, a method of purifying an aromatic alcohol comprises melt polymerizing a dihydroxy compound and a carbonate compound in the presence of a transesterification catalyst to form the aromatic alcohol and a polycarbonate in a melt polymerization facility; removing the aromatic alcohol in an overhead stream; separating the overhead stream in an aromatic alcohol purification unit into a purified aromatic alcohol stream comprising the aromatic alcohol and a purification unit bottom stream; separating the purification unit bottom stream in a diaryl carbonate purification unit into a diaryl carbonate stream and a diaryl carbonate purification unit bottom stream; and cracking a compound in the diaryl carbonate purification unit bottom stream in a cracker unit in the presence of a cracking agent to form a resultant stream comprising additional aromatic alcohol.
(FR) Dans un mode de réalisation, un procédé de purification d'un alcool aromatique consiste à : polymériser en masse fondue un composé à fonction dihydroxy et un composé à fonction carbonate en présence d'un catalyseur de transestérification pour former l'alcool aromatique et un polycarbonate dans une installation de polymérisation en masse fondue ; éliminer l'alcool aromatique dans un flux de tête ; séparer le flux de tête dans une unité de purification d'alcool aromatique en un flux d'alcool aromatique purifié, comprenant l'alcool aromatique, et en un flux de fond d'unité de purification ; séparer le flux de fond d'unité de purification dans une unité de purification de carbonate de diaryle en un flux de carbonate de diaryle et en un flux de fond d'unité de purification de carbonate de diaryle ; et craquer un composé dans le flux de fond d'unité de purification de carbonate de diaryle, dans une unité de craqueur, en présence d'un agent de craquage pour former un flux résultant comprenant de l'alcool aromatique supplémentaire.
