CLAIMS

1. An insulated glazing system (1) comprising:

- a first glass pane (2),

- a second glass pane (3),

- a spacer element (4) comprising a first surface (5) designed for coupling with said first glass pane (2) and a second surface (6) designed for coupling with said second glass pane (3), said spacer element (4) being made of a low heat-conductive material,

- support means (7) within the insulated glazing system, for a blind, a screen or the like (8),

a first profile (10) and engagement means (12),

- said first profile (10) comprising a first surface (13) designed for coupling with said support means (7) and a second surface (14) designed for coupling with a bottom surface (15) of said spacer element (4),

- each of said first profile (10) and said spacer element (4) has at least one through hole (21, 23),

- said engagement means (12) engaging said through holes (21, 22, 23) to thereby provide a tight mechanical coupling between said spacer element (4) and said first profile (10).

characterized in that it comprises a second profile (11) comprising a first surface (16) designed for coupling with a top surface (17) of said spacer element (4) and at least one through hole (22), said engagement means (12) engaging said through holes (21, 22, 23) of said first profile (10), said second profile (11) and said spacer element (4) to thereby provide a mechanical coupling between said spacer element (4), said first profile (10) and said second profile (1 1).

2. An insulated glazing system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said engagement means (12) comprise sealing means (25) comprising a first sealing ring (25A) and a second sealing ring (25B) which are placed on a second surface (24) and on said first surface of said second profile (11) respectively, proximate to said at least one through hole (22), to provide a seal between said spacer element (4) and said second profile (11).

3. An insulated glazing system as claimed in claim 2, wherein said first sealing ring and said second sealing ring comprise butyl.

An insulating glazing system as claimed in claim 1, wherein said engagement means (12) comprise clamping means (12') comprising a head end (12A) and a tail end (12B) which are interconnected by a shaft (12C), wherein said head end (12A) comprises a countersunk head and said bottom end (12B) comprises ratchets that are configured to move from a deployed position to a retracted position.

An insulated glazing system as claimed in any of the preceding claims 1 to 4, wherein said second profile (1 1) comprises profile portions located proximate to the at least one through hole (22) of the spacer element (4) or extends along the entire length of the top surface of said spacer element (4).

6. An insulated glazing system as claimed in any of the preceding claims 1 to 5, wherein:

- said first surface (16) of the second profile (11) is a substantially flat surface,

- said second surface (24) of the second profile comprises a central area extending substantially parallel to said first surface (16) of the second profile (11) whereas the end or peripheral areas are flared.

7. An insulated glazing system as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein said first profile extends along the entire length of the spacer element (4) or at least along a portion of the entire length of said spacer element (4).

8. An insulated glazing system as claimed in claim 7, wherein said first profile (10) comprises a substantially flat central portion (10A), with two wings (10B) extending therefrom, each comprising a rabbeted end portion.

9. An insulated glazing system as claimed in any of the preceding claims, wherein the transverse linear dimension of said first profile (10) and said second profile (1 1) is smaller than the distance between said first and second glass panes (2, 3).

10. A method of assembling an insulated glazing system (1) as claimed in any of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises the steps of:

- providing a first profile (10) comprising at least one through hole (21);

- providing a spacer element (4) comprising at least one through hole (23);

- providing support means (7) for supporting a blind (8), a screen or the like;

- providing engagement means (12);

- adhesively bonding a first glass pane (2) to a first surface (5) of said spacer element (4);

- associating said support means (7) with said first profile (10);

- associating said first profile (10) with the bottom surface of said spacer element (4);

- engaging said through holes (21, 23) of said first profile (10) and said spacer element (4) such that a tight mechanical engagement is created between said first profile (10) and said spacer element (4);

- adhesively bonding a second glass pane (3) to a second surface (6) of said spacer element (4).
