Abstract:
(EN) Invention relates to a microwave plasma ignition assembly configured to ignite a combustible fuel mixture in a combustion chamber of an internal combustion piston engine, comprising a prechamber assembly (14) removably adapted for attachment to a cylinder head (10), the prechamber assembly comprising a prechamber space (15) and at least one orifice (18) to provide a flow communication between the prechamber space (15) and the combustion chamber of the engine (100) when assembled to the cylinder head, the microwave plasma ignition assembly further comprising a microwave plasma plug assembly having an microwave antenna in communication with the specially designed prechamber space which acts as a cavity resonator, and a control unit (62) provided with executable instructions to activate the microwave plasma plug assembly in order to generate microwave pulses, the control unit (62) is provided with pulsed power input information for setting variables of a train of microwave pulses used during each ignition when activating the microwave plasma plug assembly, and that the control unit is further provided with executable instructions to activate the microwave plasma plug assembly using the pulsed power input information to generate microwave pulses.
(FR) L'invention concerne un ensemble d'allumage à plasma par micro-ondes, configuré pour allumer un mélange combustible de carburant dans une chambre de combustion d'un moteur à pistons à combustion interne, comportant un ensemble préchambre (14) prévu pour être fixé de manière amovible à une culasse (10), l'ensemble préchambre comportant un espace (15) de préchambre et au moins un orifice (18) servant à assurer une communication d'écoulement entre l'espace (15) de préchambre et la chambre de combustion du moteur (100) lorsqu'il est assemblé avec la culasse, l'ensemble d'allumage à plasma par micro-ondes comportant en outre un ensemble bougie à plasma par micro-ondes doté d'une antenne à micro-ondes en communication avec l'espace de préchambre spécialement conçu, qui agit comme un résonateur à cavité, et une unité (62) de commande munie d'instructions exécutables pour activer l'ensemble bougie à plasma par micro-ondes afin de générer des impulsions de micro-ondes, l'unité (62) de commande étant munie d'informations d'entrée de puissance pulsée servant à régler des variables d'un train d'impulsions de micro-ondes utilisées pendant chaque allumage lors de l'activation de l'ensemble bougie à plasma par micro-ondes, et l'unité de commande étant en outre munie d'instructions exécutables pour activer l'ensemble bougie à plasma par micro-ondes en utilisant les informations d'entrée de puissance pulsée pour générer des impulsions de micro-ondes.
