Abstract:
(EN) Disclosed examples include heart rate monitor systems (100) and methods to estimate a patient heart rate, in which a processor (108) filters digital photoplethysmogram (PPG) sample values (107) representing transmission or reflection of a light signal (121) in a patient (120) during a time window, performs motion compensation processing on the filtered values (213), computes a gain value (Ki) for individual segments of the time window using the motion compensated values (215), applies the individual gain values (Ki) to the motion compensated values (215) of blocks associated with the corresponding segments, and determines a heart rate estimate value (221) representing the patient heart rate according to frequency content of the adjusted values (217).
