Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for preparing methoxyboranes by dismutation of the formic acid or at least one of the derivatives thereof or a mixture of formic acid and at least one of the derivatives thereof, in the presence of an organoborane, and optionally an organic or inorganic base. The invention also relates to a method for producing methanol which includes a step of preparing a methoxyborane according to the method of the invention and a step of hydrolysis or protonolysis of the methoxyborane into methanol. The invention furthermore relates to the use of methoxyboranes obtained by the method of the invention for the production of methanol, as catalysts in allylation reactions, as reagents in Suzuki coupling reactions, and as a reagent for fine chemistry or for heavy chemistry. The methanol produced by hydrolysis or protonolysis of the methoxyboranes formed by the method of the invention can be used as a fuel or additive in combustion engines, as a fuel in direct methanol fuel cells, as a means for storing hydrogen, or as a reagent for fine chemistry.

La présente invention concerne un procédé de préparation de méthoxyboranes de par dismutation de l'acide formique ou d'au moins un de ses dérivés ou d'un mélange d'acide formique et d'au moins un de ses dérivés, en présence d'un organoborane, et éventuellement d'une base organique ou inorganique. L'invention concerne également un procédé de production de méthanol comprenant une étape de préparation d'un méthoxyborane selon le procédé de l'invention et une étape d'hydrolyse ou de protonolyse du méthoxyborane en méthanol. L'invention concerne, en outre, l'utilisation de méthoxyboranes obtenus par le procédé de l'invention pour la production du méthanol, comme catalyseurs dans des réactions d'allylation, comme réactifs dans les réactions de couplage de Suzuki, comme réactif pour la chimie fine ou pour la chimie lourde. Le méthanol produit par hydrolyse ou protonolyse des méthoxyboranes formés par le procédé d'invention, peut être utilisé comme carburant ou additif dans les moteurs à combustion, comme carburant dans les piles à combustibles à méthanol direct, comme moyen de stockage de l'hydrogène, comme réactif pour la chimie fine.
