(EN) A system for treating a diseased site in a human or animal body. The system includes a pharmaceutical carrier including one or more phosphors which are capable of emitting light into the diseased site upon interaction, a photoactivatable drug for intercalating into DNA of cells at the diseased site, one or more devices which infuse the diseased sited with the photoactivatable drug and the pharmaceutical carrier, an x-ray or high energy electron source, and a processor programmed to control a dose of x-rays or electrons to the diseased site for production of light inside the tumor to activate the photoactivatable drug.
(FR) L'invention concerne un système de traitement d'un site malade dans un corps humain ou animal. Le système comprend un support pharmaceutique comprenant un ou plusieurs phosphores capables d'émettre, de façon contrôlée par une interaction, de la lumière qui pénètre le site malade, un médicament photo-activable qui s'intercale au sein de l'ADN des cellules du site malade, un ou plusieurs dispositifs qui permettent d'infuser le site malade avec le médicament photo-activable et le support pharmaceutique, une source de rayons X ou d'électrons à haute énergie, et un processeur programmé pour commander l'envoi vers le site malade d'une dose de rayons X ou d'électrons et ainsi produire de la lumière au sein de la tumeur afin d'activer le médicament photo-activable.
