(EN) Methods for separating ammonia (NH3) from a gaseous mixture that includes hydrogen (H2), nitrogen (N2), and NH3 are described. A method includes contacting the gaseous mixture of H2, N2, and NH3 with an organic solution of Lewis acid to produce a gaseous stream that includes the H2 and N2 gas and an organic liquid stream that includes the Lewis acid and a Lewis acid: NH3 complex. The ammonia can then be separated from the complex.
