Abstract:
(EN) A method for compression of an incoming feed air stream using at least two variable speed compressor drive assemblies controlled in tandem is provided. The first variable speed driver assembly drives at least one compression stage in the lower pressure compressor unit driven while the second variable speed driver assembly drives higher pressure compression stage disposed in the split functional compression train of the air separation plant. The first and second variable speed driver assemblies are preferably high speed, variable speed electric motor assemblies each having a motor body, a motor housing, and a motor shaft with one or more impellers directly and rigidly coupled to the motor shaft via a sacrificial rigid shaft coupling.
(FR) L'invention concerne un procédé de compression d'un courant d'air entrant d'alimentation au moyen d'au moins deux mécanismes d'entraînement de compresseur à vitesse variable commandés en tandem. Le premier mécanisme d'entraînement à vitesse variable entraîne au moins une étape de compression dans l'ensemble compresseur à pression inférieure actionné tandis que le second mécanisme d'entraînement à vitesse variable entraîne une étape de compression à pression supérieure disposée dans le train de compression à fonction double de l'installation de séparation d'air. Les premier et second mécanismes d'entraînement à vitesse variable sont de préférence des groupes moteurs électriques à vitesse élevée et variable, chaque groupe moteur comportant un corps de moteur, un carter de moteur et un arbre de moteur avec une ou plusieurs roues à ailettes directement solidarisées à l'arbre de moteur par l'intermédiaire d'un accouplement d'arbre rigide sacrificiel.
