Title: CAM ANGLE SENSOR FAULT DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE FOR SADDLE-TYPE VEHICLE, ENGINE SYSTEM, AND SADDLE-TYPE VEHICLE
Abstract:
The objectives of the present invention are to provide a cam angle sensor fault diagnostic device for a saddle-type vehicle with which faults in a cam angle sensor mounted in a saddle-type vehicle can be detected, and the location of a fault can be estimated; to provide an engine system; and to provide a saddle-type vehicle. This cam angle sensor fault diagnostic device for a saddle-type vehicle is equipped with: a cam signal reception unit that is connected to a signal output line to which a cam signal in accordance with the rotational angle is output from the cam angle sensor, and that receives the cam signal via the signal output line; a state determination unit that makes a determination in which one or two fault states of the cam angle sensor, from among a wire disconnection state, a power supply fault state, and a ground fault state, is distinguished from the other fault state(s), in accordance with the signal level of the cam signal input to the cam signal reception unit; and a signal output unit that outputs a fault signal indicating the one or two fault states determined by the state determination unit, the fault signal indicating the one or two fault states determined by the state determination unit being output so as to differ from a fault signal indicating the other fault state(s).
