Abstract:
The invention relates to a nozzle assembly (10; 10a) for a fuel injector (100), comprising a nozzle needle (12) which is arranged such that it can move in a stroke-like manner in a bore (15) of a nozzle body (11), for releasing and closing at least one injection opening (17) via at least one guide (44, 45) formed between a nozzle needle (12) and the bore (15), wherein the nozzle needle (12) has a throttle section (40; 40a) for forming a gap throttle (38) with the bore (15) of the nozzle body (11), wherein the bore (15) has a first section (18) and a second section (19) with an enlarged cross-section with respect to the first section (18), wherein the two sections (18, 19) of the bore (15) are connected together via an intermediate section (27), forming a constant cross-sectional change between the two sections (18, 19), wherein the throttle section (40; 40a) of the nozzle needle (12) enters into the first section (18) of the bore (15) in a closed position of the nozzle needle (12), and wherein the throttle section (40; 40a) cooperates with the bore (15) in such a way that the throttling effect of the throttle section (40; 40a) is reduced when the throttle needle (12) is raised. According to the invention, in a raised position of the nozzle needle (12) the throttle section (40; 40a) completely leaves at least the first section (18) of the bore (15).
