Abstract:
(EN) A liquid crystal device includes a light source, a first transparent substrate, a first transparent electrode, a switchable or tunable micropatterned alignment layer arranged in an array of pixels, a liquid crystal layer, a fixed alignment layer, a second transparent electrode, and a second transparent substrate. The switchable micropatterned alignment layer is disposed between the liquid crystal layer and one of the first transparent substrate and the second transparent substrate. The fixed alignment layer is disposed between the liquid crystal layer and one of the first transparent substrate and the second transparent substrate. Light from the light source is not visible outside the liquid crystal device when the switchable or tunable micropatterned alignment layer is in an off-state.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un dispositif à cristaux liquides comprenant une source de lumière, un premier substrat transparent, une première électrode transparente, une couche d'alignement à micromotifs commutable ou ajustable agencée en un réseau de pixels, une couche de cristaux liquides, une couche d'alignement fixe, une seconde électrode transparente et un second substrat transparent. La couche d'alignement à micromotifs commutable est placée entre la couche de cristaux liquides et le premier ou le second substrat transparent. La couche d'alignement fixe est placée entre la couche de cristaux liquides et le premier ou le second substrat transparent. La lumière provenant de la source de lumière n'est pas visible à l'extérieur du dispositif à cristaux liquides lorsque la couche d'alignement à micromotifs commutable ou ajustable est dans un état désactivé.
