Abstract:
(EN) Disclosed is a method for operating a surgical instrument, the surgical instrument comprising a radio frequency (RF) energy output, an ultrasonic energy output, and a first jaw and a second jaw configured for pivotal movement between a closed position and an open position, the method comprising: receiving a first input indicating a user selection of one of a first option and a second option; receiving a second input indicating whether the first jaw and the second jaw are in the closed position or in the open position; receiving a third input indicating electrical impedance at the RF energy output; and selecting a mode of operation for treating a tissue from a plurality of modes of operation based at least in part on the first input, the second input and the third input.
(FR) La présente invention concerne un procédé pour faire fonctionner un instrument chirurgical, l'instrument chirurgical comprenant une sortie d'énergie de radiofréquence (RF), une sortie d'énergie ultrasonore, et une première mâchoire et une seconde mâchoire configurées pour effectuer un mouvement pivotant entre une position fermée et une position ouverte, le procédé comprenant les étapes consistant à : recevoir une première entrée indiquant une sélection d'utilisateur d'une première option ou d'une seconde option; recevoir une deuxième entrée indiquant si la première mâchoire et la seconde mâchoire sont dans la position fermée ou dans la position ouverte; recevoir une troisième entrée indiquant l'impédance électrique au niveau de la sortie d'énergie RF; et sélectionner un mode de fonctionnement pour traiter un tissu parmi une pluralité de modes de fonctionnement sur la base au moins en partie de la première entrée, de la deuxième entrée et la troisième entrée.
