La présente invention permet également de fournir un procédé de production d'un ester d'acide carboxylique de grande pureté, le procédé comprenant une étape consistant à mettre en contact un ester d'acide carboxylique brut qui contient des impuretés anioniques et des impuretés métalliques de Ag, Al, Au, Ca, Cr, Cu, Fe, K, Mg, Na, Sn et Zn avec une résine échangeuse de cations (II), suivie d'une étape consistant à mettre en contact l'ester d'acide carboxylique de grande pureté avec une résine échangeuse d'anions (III).
