The invention addresses the problem of reducing the size of an electric vehicle drive device by reducing the size of a parking lock mechanism provided in the electrically-driven vehicle device. Provided is an electric vehicle drive device comprising an electric motor, a speed reducer that transmits power to a drive wheel by decelerating the rotation of the electric motor, a casing 20a that houses the electric motor and the speed reducer, and a parking lock mechanism 40 that locks the drive wheel, said electric vehicle drive device is provided with a parking gear 41 that is provided on an input gear rotary shaft 23 housed in the casing 20a, a parking pawl 42 that comprises a claw part that can engage and disengage with an engaging part of the parking gear 41, a rotating cam 44a that makes the claw part of the parking pawl 42 swing so as to engage and disengage with the engaging part of the parking gear 41, and a cam driving unit 44 that rotates the rotating cam 44a. The cam driving unit 44 comprises a cam drive shaft 44b that is rotatably mounted on the rotating cam 44a, and a rotating means for rotating the cam drive shaft 44b. The rotating means is provided on the outside of the casing 20a.
