Abstract:
The invention relates to an endoscopic image processing system, containing an input and output data line for video signals, comprising means which process a geometric distance information that has been captured in the detection range of an endoscopic camera in the form of an optical information which is contained together with at least one image (or a partial image) in the information of the moving image recorded by a camera, said means detect it and separate it from the image information and further prepare it in order to obtain a measurement information on the basis of the image content obtained by the digital camera. The invention is characterized in that the input line comprises means for connecting a system for processing video signals to the video output, wherein said video signals are recorded by an endoscopic camera and destined for the reproduction on a monitor, and that the output line comprises means for connection to a monitor which serves for the purpose of image reproduction during a medical operation. A processing unit is provided between the input and the output data line, said processing unit comprising a data and video processor which adds image content to the video input signal, said image content being produced by the processing of the actual video input signal. In this case, the measurement information is represented according to an analog or digital representation, which are based on the geometric distance information that has been captured in the detection range of the endoscopic camera of the system mounted upstream, in the form of an optical information by imaging a scale-forming device, as well as on the data characterizing the reproduction properties of the endoscopic camera and on the scale-forming device and summation means which directly superimpose the output signal to the data processing part of the entry signal, the output of the summation circuit being connected to the output data line.
