Abstract:
(EN) Disclosed herein are systems and methods for automatically grouping, authenticating, and provisioning access points using cloud-based management of wireless-local-area-network (WLAN) infrastructure. In an embodiment, a given site has a master access point that is manually configured with an organization-and-site-specific master-access-point configuration for providing service in a WLAN. Additional access points installed for operation transmit self-identifying messages to neighboring access points. Each access point compiles information about its neighbor access points in access-point neighbor lists. The access-point neighbor lists are received and used by a cloud-based WLAN-management service to identify the associated master access point and to provision unauthenticated access points using the correct organization-and-site-specific master-access-point configuration.
(FR) L'invention concerne des systèmes et des procédés permettant de grouper, d'authentifier et de fournir automatiquement des points d'accès à l'aide d'une gestion basée sur le nuage d'une infrastructure de réseau local sans fil (WLAN). Dans un mode de réalisation, un site donné comporte un point d'accès maître qui est configuré manuellement avec une configuration de point d'accès maître spécifique à l'organisation et au site afin de fournir un service dans un WLAN. Des points d'accès supplémentaires installés pour un fonctionnement transmettent des messages d'auto-identification à des points d'accès voisins. Chaque point d'accès compile des informations concernant ses points d'accès voisins dans des listes de voisins de points d'accès. Les listes de voisins de points d'accès sont reçues et utilisées par un service de gestion de WLAN basé sur le nuage pour identifier le point d'accès maître associé et fournir des points d'accès non authentifiés à l'aide de la configuration correcte de point d'accès maître spécifique à l'organisation et au site.
