Abstract:
Provided are a workpiece bending method and a bender with which it is possible, when forming a bend groove in a plate-shaped workpiece and performing a bending process, to perform the bending process accurately at the portion of the bend groove even when there is offset between the bend groove and the tip section of the top die. A workpiece bending method using a bender provided with a top die, a bottom die, and a bend mold, wherein a workpiece W is installed in a bend mold 29 so that a bend groove 47 formed in the workpiece W is on the inside, and the workpiece W is bent by the bend mold 29 while the gap between the top die 15 and the bottom die 47 is kept at a spacing allowing movement of the workpiece W.
