Abstract:
Provided is an image display device having a plurality of independent, dimmable light-emitting diodes. This image display device is provided with a liquid crystal display panel and a light-source substrate for illuminating the liquid crystal display panel from the back side thereof. The light-source substrate is equipped with: a plurality of light-emitting diodes, each disposed corresponding to a different region of the liquid crystal display panel; and a driver element that drives each of the light-emitting diodes at a luminance corresponding to the brightness inside the corresponding region of an image in accordance with a control signal. A first conductive foil is disposed on a first main surface with which each light-emitting diode of the light-source substrate is equipped; a second conductive foil is disposed on a second main surface opposite the first main surface. A ground pattern foil is disposed as a second conductive foil on a region of the second main surface that, in a planar view, contains each of the light-emitting diodes. The area of the first conductive foil is substantially equal to the area of the second conductive foil.
