A compressed-air vane cell motor of external rotor design comprises a stator (1) and a rotor (4) which is mounted such that it can be rotated relative to said stator (1) about a rotational axis (A), with a hollow chamber (6) which is eccentric with respect to the rotational axis (A). A stator core (7) is received in said hollow chamber (6); and said hollow chamber (6) is divided into two working chambers (25, 26) by means of two stator-side vanes (23, 24) which, lying opposite one another, bear against the circumferential wall (22) of the hollow chamber (6). Here, the two vanes (23, 24) are part of a rigid slide (18) which is mounted in the stator core (7) such that it can be displaced in its entirety in an aperture (17) which penetrates said stator core (7). The slide (18) has, on the surface thereof, air flow grooves which communicate in each case with air flow ducts (27) which are arranged in the stator core, and are in each case part of a slide valve (28) which is formed by way of the slide (18) and the aperture (17) of the stator core (7), such that the air flow ducts (27) communicate in each case with one of the working chambers (25, 26) or else are closed with respect to the latter in a manner which is dependent on the position of the slide (18) relative to the stator core (7).
