Abstract:
A vision system (10) for a motor vehicle, comprising a pair of imaging devices (12a, 12b) forming a stereo imaging means (11) and a data processing device (14) establishing an object detector (15) adapted to detect an object in the surrounding of the motor vehicle from images captured by said imaging means (11), a tracker (16) adapted to track over time the object detected by said object detector (15), wherein said data processing device (14) is adapted to calculate a size related value and a disparity related value of the detected and tracked object, characterized in that said data processing device (14) comprises an analysis section (20) adapted to perform an analysis on a group of at least five data points of the tracked object corresponding to different times, wherein each data point comprises a size related value and a corresponding disparity related value of the detected object, wherein said analysis is a regression analysis using a predetermined regression function having at least one variable, wherein said regression analysis yields a best value for each variable corresponding to a best match of the regression function to the group of data points, wherein said analysis section (20) is adapted to calculate from said at least one best value a systematic error in said disparity related values and/or in said size related values.
