Title: METHOD AND DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING AN INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE DURING THE COLD START AND WARM-UP
Abstract:
The invention is characterized by a method and a corresponding device for controlling an internal combustion engine (100) which is equipped with a fuel evaporation retention system (6). The internal combustion engine (100) has a fuel storage container (5) for storing fuel and a fuel vapor retention filter (61) which is coupled to the fuel storage container (5) via a connecting line (63) in order to temporarily store the fuel vapor escaping the storage container. Furthermore, the fuel vapor retention filter (61) is coupled to a suction tract (1) of the internal combustion engine (100) via a regeneration line (65) in order to introduce the stored fuel vapor into the suction tract (1) in the event of specific operating ranges of the internal combustion engine (100). Furthermore, the fuel vapor retention filter (61) is connected to the atmosphere via a ventilation line (70) such that purge air can be conducted through the fuel vapor retention filter (61) in order to regenerate the fuel vapor retention filter (61). During a cold start and a subsequent warm-up of the internal combustion engine (100), fuel vapor is suctioned out of the fuel storage container (5) by means of a purge air pump (66) arranged in the regeneration line (65) and conducted into the suction tract (1) in a first phase. The pressure in the fuel storage container (5) is monitored by means of a pressure sensor (69), and as soon as a negative pressure is set in the fuel storage container (5), the suction of the fuel vapor out of the fuel storage container (5) ends. The fuel vapor is suctioned out of the fuel vapor retention filter (61) by means of the purge air pump (66) and conducted into the suction tract (1) in a second phase.
