Abstract:
(EN) Optimizing power generation from waste heat in large industrial facilities such as petroleum refineries by utilizing a subset of all available hot source streams selected based, in part, on considerations for example, capital cost, ease of operation, economics of scale power generation, a number of ORC machines to be operated, operating conditions of each ORC machine, combinations of them, or other considerations are described. Recognizing that several subsets of hot sources can be identified from among the available hot sources in a large petroleum refinery, subsets of hot sources that are optimized to provide waste heat to one or more ORC machines for power generation are also described. Further, recognizing that the utilization of waste heat from all available hot sources in a mega-site such as a petroleum refinery and aromatics complex is not necessarily or not always the best option, hot source units in petroleum refineries from which waste heat can be consolidated to power the one or more ORC machines are identified.
(FR) La présente invention concerne l'optimisation d'une production d'électricité à partir de chaleur résiduelle dans des installations industrielles de grande taille, telles que des raffineries de pétrole, en utilisant un sous-groupe de tous les flux de sources chaudes disponibles sélectionnés en partie sur la base de certaines considérations, par exemple le coût en capital, la facilité de fonctionnement, les économies d'échelle dans la production d'électricité, le nombre de machines ORC à exploiter, les conditions de fonctionnement de chaque machine ORC, leurs combinaisons ou d'autres aspects. Puisque plusieurs sous-groupes de sources chaudes peuvent être identifiés parmi les sources chaudes disponibles dans une raffinerie de pétrole de grande taille, la présente invention concerne également des sous-groupes de sources chaudes qui sont optimisés pour fournir de la chaleur résiduelle à une ou plusieurs machines ORC en vue d'une production d'électricité. En outre, puisque l'utilisation de la chaleur résiduelle provenant de toutes les sources chaudes disponibles dans un site de très grande taille, tel qu'une raffinerie de pétrole et un complexe de production de composés aromatiques, ne constitue pas nécessairement, ou pas toujours, la meilleure option, on identifie des unités de sources chaudes dans des raffineries de pétrole à partir desquelles de la chaleur résiduelle peut être accumulée pour alimenter lesdites une ou plusieurs machines ORC.
