Title: METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR TREATMENT OF AN EXHAUST GAS STREAM
Abstract:
The present invention provides for an. exhaust treatment system (350) and a method for the treatment of an exhaust stream (303) from a combustion engine (301). This exhaust stream (303) comprises nitrogen oxides NOx, in which nitrogen monoxide NO and nitrogen, dioxide NO2 are comprised. The exhaust stream (303) passes through an exhaust treatment system (350) connected to the combustion engine (301), In the exhaust treatment system (350) a first oxidation of compounds comprising one or more of nitrogen, carbon and hydrogen in the exhaust stream is carried out by a first oxidation catalyst (311). Further, a value (NO2_1/NOx_1)det for a ratio between a first amount of nitrogen dioxide N02_1 and a first amount of nitrogen oxides NOx_1 leaving said first oxidation catalyst (311 ) is determined. An active control of at least one parameter related to the combustion engine (301) is carried out, based on the determined value (N02_1/NOx_1) det, so that the ratio is impacted. A first additive is supplied into the exhaust stream, following which, a first reduction of the first amount of nitrogen oxides NOx_1 is carried out through a catalytic reaction in a catalytic filter (320), wherein the filter consists of a particulate filter with an at least partly catalytic coating with reduction characteristics. The catalytic filter (320) is arranged for catching and. oxidising of soot particles, and to carry out the first reduction of the first amount of nitrogen oxides NOx_1 by using the first additive.
