Title: RHEOMETER HAVING A GAS BEARING
Abstract:
The invention relates to a rheometer having a shaft, which is rotatably supported in a gas bearing. The gas bearing has a first bearing body (rotor) attached to the shaft and a second bearing body (stator), which surrounds the first bearing body (rotor) at a distance, a bearing gap thus being formed. The second bearing body (stator) is composed of a gas-permeable material at least in some sections, and a gas flows through the second bearing body (stator) in such a way that a gas cushion is formed in the bearing gap, by means of which gas cushion the first bearing body (rotor) and the shaft are supported without contact. According to the invention, the first bearing body (rotor), at least in the regions thereof facing the second bearing body (stator), likewise is composed of a gas-permeable material, into which the gas penetrates, the gas forming the preferably stationary gas layer thereof close to the surface because of the dynamic pressure or back-up of the gas.
